ANALYSIS: The Aztecs are coming off the biggest win in school history and their stifling defense has lived up to expectations in this tournament. Alabama shot 3 of 27 from deep in losing to San Diego State on Friday. But the Bluejays have a slew of shot-makers, two excellent ballhandlers in Ryan Nembhard and Trey Alexander, and a strong defense of their own. It also helps that Creighton saw this defense in last year's NCAA Tournament opener, a 72-69 Bluejays win. The Aztecs rank fourth in defensive efficiency but only 70th in offensive efficiency. Creighton is more balanced -- 14th and 22nd respectively. Lay the small number.

Miami comes into this matchup undervalued and disrespected. Few are in love with teams from the ACC playing against the Big 12. These are two eerily similar basketball teams that match up almost too well with each other. Isaiah Wong's game is similar to Marcus Carr's. Norchad Omier and Timmy Allen play the same undersized bully-ball post-game. Pack and Hunter are both small guards who can shoot from deep. In a game like this, I will take the points with Miami, as I believe they can keep this momentum rolling after defeating Houston. Miami took out the final 1 seed the Houston Cougars. Miami led the entire second half, and were up by as many as 17 as they controlled most of the game. Miami was 11-25 from three and shot 51.7% from the floor. The one Hurricane that can defeat a team and matchup with anyone is Isaiah Wong. He averages 16.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 3.3 APG. He has come alive in the last two games in the tournament, scoring 27 on Indiana and 20 in the win over Houston. Wong is the ACC Player of the Year, and is the go-to guy and the difference maker. But he’s not alone in this game. Jordan Miller is a 6'7 wing player who made Second Team All ACC after averaging 15.1 PPG and 6.2 RPG. Miller is a an athletic wing with size, he had 19 points against Indiana and 13 against Houston. Norchad Omier made Third Team All ACC, he plays the center position in the Hurricanes small-ball lineup and averages 13.3 PPG and 10.1 RPG. Nijel Pack is a 6'0 guard who has shot the ball well in the Tournament, he had 21 points in the opener against Drake and hit 7 threes against Houston. Pack has been the energy boosted the Hurricanes needed, as they may not have beaten Drake without him, and he just knocked down 7 threes against Houston. Miami is rolling, we'll take the points.
